Did you know that dried Plums are called Prunes?
I didnt know it myself...until i looked it up on the net...
i have always thought a prune is a fruit of its own...Plums as the source stated are scientifically proven to be a source of vitamin C and help to protect a person from severe vision destroying disease (just like carrot..i mean good for ur eyes) The above plum picture we all know..it is common..if u say plum, the red juicy sweet plum will automatically come to mind...

Yes...this greenish fruit is actually the plum we know about.In istanbul, it is now in season (Spring). The people here l0ve it when it is still green.. It has a bit sourish taste (masam)....very watery and when u put it in the fridge...eat it when it is cold...crunch...the crunchy sound as u take the bite will tempt anyone......it is heavenly indeed..!

This talk of this green plum reminds me of my sister in law özlem. She was living in the North Carolina when she was pregnant with her first child. U know pregnant women..they want this..they want that...it so happened that özlem wanted to eat this green plum. Of course there is no such thing as selling green plum in US..well..at least they couldnt find it. Those yummy green plum in the end was sent to her from turkey!! I suppose by the time it reached NC, the plums were not so crunchy anymore..but i bet it was enough to satisfy the need of this one pregnant lady!! *wink*
