Spending....MONEY

A scenario - a conversation between a husband and wife-

wife - Honey, today i went window shopping and saw this gorgeous dress! Can
you buy it for me?
husband - How much does it cost dear?
wife - Not much...just a few hundred dollars....around 500 dollar..
*looking sweetly at the hubby*
husband - What!!!!????

It is said that women have 99 desires and men has one...We women can get attracted to so many things and our * i want to buy this..i want to buy that* are countless....shopping for example. While going shopping............phewwwww there are so many things we would like to buy...this and that...

Sure..if u yourself work or have an income of your own...who cares if u spend what u have..the money is yours after all...or if u have a rich family or a husband...if they can accomodate ur shopping spree..spend all u want!!

But for most of us, we are ordinary people...people with budget limit. Especially if you have a family, the budget can stretch to the real definition of a limit. Yes..we women love shopping...especially when we r stressed out, we need to spend...but what differentiate a woman is the mind...and self control.

Yes...shopping we must...but buy whatever we want at whatever costt??? Not looking whether the spouse can afford it or not..??? or how the buying of that thing can affect the financial situation of the family? Is there only *WHAT I WANT*?

If one has no kid, one has more freedom to spend.One will be more free to lavish oneself to more luxury. After all, there is only you and your hubby...Only u and ur hubby will be affected..
Still..u should ask urself..*can we afford to buy this?*

Once you have a kid or two or more...,then the spending whether u like it or not...will be mainly on them..Yes, we should go shopping for ourselves as well..it wont do to have all old things all the time...it is our nature to want new things once in a while.it is not wrong to lavish ourselves once in a while..*within budget limit of course*

But shopping as we used to? Definitely we shop...perhaps even more!!!...but the focus is no longer on ourselves..it is the kids...children's needs are endless... come summer..new summer clothing, come fall... fall clothing...come winter, winter clothing, ...come spring..spring clothing...They grow and so as their needs....their needs come first.

How many of you moms have cancelled the thoughts of buying something u like and instead u end up buying something for your kids?? Thoughts like...*if i dont buy this x i like, i could use this money to buy y that my kids need*....that kind of thoughts..does it sound familiar?

Money money money...it is indeed a headache to think of it...of how to stretch as far as we could with whatever we have....money is important to life. BUT life is most important if it is not surrounded by the thoughts of ONLY money...Yes we have a budget..yes we have to spend..but to spend-shop wisely, not letting the family into money trouble...to try to live a life worth cherishing...is what living is all about...especially with your love ones...
