Dogs? Cats I love but dogs?? In shafie besides it being haram, the thought of having to wash my body part with water mixed with sand (where will i find clean sand in istanbul??)...i just take the easy way and stay out of my way from the dogs. In hanafi it is easier of course. Just use the soap and you are considered clean.

Today the kids and I were walking home from the grocery market when on the same path two dogs were running towards our way. Straightaway I crossed the street and walked at the other side of the pedestrian path.The dogs-one is a stray dog and the other is with the owner. The one with the owner was walking and suddenly it opened its legs wide and do the small business at the side of that pedestrian walk..Yuck!! Do all dog owners let their dog do that?? what about the big business? I cant imagine.. it is really disgusting...!!

The stray dog was running in front of the other dog...It is really thin..I noticed that the dog was running really funny. I was shocked to see that the dog only have 3 legs!! It is different if the dog has four legs and one leg is not working (maybe broken) and the dog may have to drag that one leg...but this dog has only 3 legs and one leg NoN-ExisTENCE!! Was the dog born like that? or something had happenned that the dog had lost that one leg totally... Allah knows...but being a dog straying for food and with three legs only, it cant be easy. My heart goes to him..I may not like dogs but to see a dog like that....
